When viewing the grid, we indicate how recently a user has been online:

Green dot:
Someone who is currently online or was online in the last 30 minutes. |

No dot:
Someone who was last online over 30 minutes ago. |
Remember that Hornet members get push notifications for new messages. So, they should still get notified if you send someone who’s offline a message!
